Citizens Alley, a new downtown gathering space run by Local Motives, opened on August 11 and hosted its first events with live music, games and pickleball.

The space will switch to winter use in October with an ice rink — and more public events are planned to further connect local residents.

A Minot man was arrested after he shot a man in the face multiple times with a BB gun in Devils Lake on August 10th near Railroad Avenue and 4th Avenue NE—he now faces charges for aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing and reckless endangerment.

A Surrey man—Daniel Breijo—is accused of fatally shooting Air National Guardsman Nicholas Van Pelt in a northwest Minot apartment on Christmas Eve and is taking a plea deal that lowers the charges to manslaughter while he will also plead guilty to aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, with a 20-year sentence pending court approval.
