The Minot Public Library invites people of all ages to join the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge with the theme Color Our World and is partnering with Ward County Public Library for an all-ages scavenger hunt at Main Street Books on May 31 from 2-4 p.m. The challenge runs through July 29 and asks participants to read for twenty minutes daily — tokens earned can be used to vote on the library’s new mascot.

Trial testimony is set to begin Monday, May 19 at North Central District Court in Minot as Delon Davis, 46, has pleaded not guilty to the killing of 36-year-old Mark McMillan, whose death was caused by two gunshot wounds to the chest, and a jury of 14 has been selected to hear the case.

Minot State University professor Andrew Bertsch launched a survey to study motorcycle tourism’s impact on the state's economy and to find out what draws riders to North Dakota—he has collected about 200 responses so far and plans to gather thousands more by late September or early October before completing his report this winter.
