- ➤ Minot resident Olive Andes celebrated her 101st birthday on May 7 at a local restaurant with family and friends; six local employees delivered a bouquet of flowers + a box of treats, and she continues to drive, cook, and enjoy her daily life while crediting her faith for her independence. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota Game and Fish Department will conduct three zebra mussel treatments at Smishek Lake starting mid-May and continuing into June. The lake stays open for recreation (the ramp will be closed during treatments). KFYR-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Minot Air Force Base is kicking off National Police Week this week to honor law enforcement officers. Service members will join sports tournaments and a 24-hour POW+MIA ruck later in the week to remember fallen airmen. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot International Airport will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment event from June 2 through 5 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at 305 Airport Road. Travelers can enroll or renew their membership with IDEMIA for a five year TSA PreCheck membership and complete part of the process online beforehand. Minot Daily News

- ➤ ND Department of Health data for the week ending May 2 showed influenza cases declined to 134 and RSV dropped to 57, while COVID-19 cases slightly increased to 22. Season totals so far are 13,502 influenza, 5,317 COVID-19 & 2,000 RSV cases. Minot Daily News
