Minot resident Olive Andes celebrated her 101st birthday on May 7 at a local restaurant with family and friends; six local employees delivered a bouquet of flowers + a box of treats, and she continues to drive, cook, and enjoy her daily life while crediting her faith for her independence.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department will conduct three zebra mussel treatments at Smishek Lake starting mid-May and continuing into June.

The lake stays open for recreation (the ramp will be closed during treatments).

Minot Air Force Base is kicking off National Police Week this week to honor law enforcement officers.

Service members will join sports tournaments and a 24-hour POW+MIA ruck later in the week to remember fallen airmen.

Minot International Airport will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment event from June 2 through 5 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at 305 Airport Road.

Travelers can enroll or renew their membership with IDEMIA for a five year TSA PreCheck membership and complete part of the process online beforehand.

ND Department of Health data for the week ending May 2 showed influenza cases declined to 134 and RSV dropped to 57, while COVID-19 cases slightly increased to 22.

Season totals so far are 13,502 influenza, 5,317 COVID-19 & 2,000 RSV cases.
