- ➤ Minot Parks will host Frozen Fun Day on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Polaris Park for free outdoor winter fun (including skating on two rinks, frozen bubbles, snow painting, a scavenger hunt and s’mores) with free ski and skate rentals available. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Local organizations are planning a warming shelter as discussions continue into the new year, while existing services offer relief during cold months. The Men’s Winter Refuge is operating from Nov. 1 until April 30, and groups like Broadway Circle and Youthworks provide additional emergency housing. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Vitalant announced a series of January blood drives across the Minot region during National Blood Donor Month, with stops at Tioga Medical Center, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and Drake Anamoose High School. Donors between Jan. 5 and Jan. 30 will also have a chance to win $500 *prize drawing*. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot sports celebrated historic wins in 2025. Bishop Ryan earned its first state basketball title in 31 years over Westhope/Newburg Sioux and the Beavers made their NCAA tournament debut with 26 wins—local teams also won state titles in golf and tennis while a track record was set. - ➤ South Prairie-Max girls basketball team cruised to a 67-34 win against Langdon Area/Munich at the Minot State University Dome on Dec. 30 with a 15-0 run and balanced scoring — the Royals will travel to play Watford City on Jan. 2. Minot Daily News
- ➤ The Annual Frozen Bizon Fat Tire Bike Race is set for Jan. 10 at noon on the Bison Plant Trail, and residents will race two fat tire biking courses and a snowshoe run while earning medals and prizes for top finishers. KFYR-TV
