Slumberland Furniture in Minot donates 20 mattress sets and frames (Community Action) along with quilts by Our Redeemer’s Quilters Association throughout December under its annual Homes for the Holidays program.

This effort builds on over 44,000 donations since 1993 to help local families get a better night's sleep.

The CPKC Holiday Train passed through Minot on Dec.

18, raising over $2 million and collecting more than 175,000 lbs of food for local food banks. The event—started in 1999—featured 194 live music shows that highlighted community generosity during the holiday season.

Roosevelt Park Zoo’s Discovery Barn is open on the south side after its move in January for the MI-7 flood protection project; the zoo is renovating a new area with three yards for its camels, which are expected to return by June.

Dakota Hope Clinic in Minot is undergoing a leadership transition as longtime director Nadia Smetana retires and registered nurse Mandy Crocker steps in as clinic director.

Crocker, with 26 years of nursing experience, will focus on strengthening operations + fundraising to sustain the clinic’s compassionate care.
