- ➤ Minot State University student-athletes completed a month-long winter clothing and food drive in October that filled a minivan with donations for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center & set a record. SAAC president Mallory Hoogensen led the effort, which saw contributions from every athletic team. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot Area Chamber EDC announced that Economic Development Specialist *Mark Lyman* earned the Certified Economic Developer designation from the International Economic Development Council. The new status affirms his skills to boost investment and grow opportunities in the area, officials said. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Associate Professor Holly Pedersen from Minot State University presented her research at the International Congress on Education of the Deaf in Rome. She discussed the role of faith in family support+ experts from various countries joined the historic event to advance deaf education methods. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Delegates at the 99th annual NDFU convention in Bismarck today chose Matt Perdue as the union’s 10th and youngest president at 35—he farms with his family near Ray and served at NDFU and National Farmers Union. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Madelyn Mercer, a Minot State alumna working in Duke's trauma center, presented on hypothermia management at a national emergency nursing conference in Sept. + she trains nurses and will cross-train in pediatric care next year. Minot Daily News
