COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Minot YMCA is making progress on repairs after a July flood damaged the facility — work that began during the summer — as it continues to restore safe services for the community.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Minot Police Department holds its swearing-in ceremony today from 4:00 PM—5:00 PM to officially introduce new officers, marking an important step for the department.  City of Minot
  • Team Minot airmen completed combat survival training at Garrison on October 9 — the exercises taught them how to build shelters and scavenge for resources in preparation for hostile landings. Tech. Sgt. Brett Darby from the 5th Operational Support Squadron led the training to ensure aircrew have the skills they need.  Minot Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Trinity Health announced the promotion of Amy Bergrude to service line administrator—she will lead cardiovascular, orthopedics and therapies service lines as the organization adopts a new leadership approach. A Minot native with over 30 years at Trinity Health, Bergrude earned her nursing degree from Minot State University and an MBA from Western Governors University.  Minot Daily News
  • Brea Schiele, 13, said her Velva 4-H club helped her choose healthier snacks after school and introduced fun food demonstrations—like making smoothies—to encourage better habits. Thirty-three clubs, including hers, have been recognized for integrating nutrition, fitness, and service activities into regular meetings.  Minot Daily News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Minot hunters can still hunt upland game—season stays open until Jan. 4 and offers plenty of late-season chances.  KFYR-TV
  • The Minot Minotauros ended November on a rough note after losing five straight games as they surrendered 36 goals—Watertown Shamrocks scored 15 goals in two games at Maysa Arena. The team will travel to Minnesota on Dec. 5 to play the Mallards as they work to strengthen their defense.  Minot Daily News
