- ➤ The 83 Drive is a new Northern Sentry webpage that will give Minot residents real-time Highway 83 updates & live camera feeds from official ND State sources. The site will help drivers check road conditions easily & safely during winter. Northern Sentry
- ➤ On November 11, the North Dakota Veterans Home hosted a heartfelt event for veterans—Jim Simons of the Air and Space Force Association read letters from state representatives and presented a $400 check to Administrator Grebel—while residents enjoyed a color guard tribute, a performance by the Jamestown Drum and Bugle Corps, and a meal with pie and ice cream that honored their service. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation announced 30 students as recipients of the $2,500 Health Profession Scholarship and one student as the Health Care Leader, including Morgan Bright from Dakota College at Bottineau and Kinsey Fjeld and Raivyn Millions from Minot State University for the 2025-2026 school year. - ➤ North Plains Elementary held its third annual Veterans Day ceremony on November 7 with over 125 4th, 5th and 6th grade students performing patriotic songs and readings for veterans, families and community guests including Mayor Mark Jantzer and 5th BW Commander Jesse Lamarand with his spouse Nathalie. Dr. Amanda Capote, who organized the event, said the program builds patriotism and honors military service by letting students choose each song—one song at a time. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Minot State hosted its first-ever forum on November 13th (Thursday) where undergrads showed their research to peers (marking a new academic milestone on campus). KFYR-TV
- ➤ The Minot Public School Board approved Northern Auction to manage the sale of the former Bell Elementary School building southeast of town after committee interviews on Nov. 13, with the firm set to earn a 6.25% commission and reimbursement for advertising costs plus a $5,000 fee if the reserve is met. Principals later reported that Choice Ready results from Minot High and Minot North showed over 90% of seniors had essential skills, though some did not meet the ASVAB score requirement. - ➤ North Dakota Health and Human Services is working to distribute SNAP benefits after the government shutdown. Those who received partial or no benefits will get full payments once the systems update+ which could occur by Monday at the earliest. KFYR-TV

- ➤ The 5th Medical Group launched its 2025-2026 flu campaign at Minot AFB to protect active-duty personnel from influenza and secure mission readiness this winter — over 3,600 airmen were vaccinated during a two-day event while walk-in services continue to boost the total. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Minot’s Double D-Haw fundraiser raised a record-breaking $30,000 in 2025 to help Trinity Health buy a new Brevera Breast Biopsy System that speeds up diagnosis and reduces patient discomfort—organizers now plan to raise $60,000 in 2026 for a Trident Radiography System to improve surgical precision. - ➤ North Dakotans applying for Marketplace coverage learned at a virtual news conference on November 12 that while plan options remain similar, costs will likely change when the enhanced premium tax credit expires on December 31—consumers are urged to review plan choices early and update household details—to meet upcoming enrollment deadlines for coverage starting in January or February.
