GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minot City Council approved a 20-year lease on Thursday for Pathfinder Services of North Dakota to operate the Broadway Circle shelter and apartment complex—an agreement that gives Pathfinder an option to buy after the lease ends. Under the deal, Pathfinder will pay $4,500 a month while covering property taxes and insurance—allowing the city to recoup $1.3 million used to complete the complex, though no opening date was set. - ➤ Minot business owner Christine Staley of Magic City Hoagies and Sweets and the local chamber are offering free meals for anyone with an EBT card from 2—4 p.m. starting tomorrow until Nov. 8, and they will launch a food drive on Monday with donations accepted until Nov. 14 to help families hit by the government shutdown.
