COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Bernadine Heily, a longtime resident of Mohall and Minot, will celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends on Saturday, Oct. 25. Born in Grano in 1925, she remains active by enjoying coffee, crocheting, and attending family events (birthday cards may be dropped off at Citizen State Bank to Jennifer Becker). Minot Daily News
- ➤ Morelli's accepted a $5,000 donation from Terry Peterson with the Aggie Foundation and a $10,000 check from Chuck Vennes with The Landing Bar and Bottle Shop plus the American Foundation for Wildlife to support the USA Patriots Wounded Warriors Kids Camp, which gives children who lost a limb a chance to join camp activities. With other contributions, Minot raised $28,000 in 2025 to fund the program. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Delores Booke, a 91-year-old volunteer at the local hospital, has logged thousands of hours of service + she has no plans to stop volunteering anytime soon. KFYR-TV
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota airports recorded 103,559 passenger boardings in September, setting a new state record that beats the previous 98,371 count. Minot International Airport saw a 10.7% rise to 13,749 boardings — and seven other airports posted gains as the state is on pace to finish 2025 with its highest annual air traffic. Minot Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Health and Human Services said that if the government shutdown continues, SNAP benefits for about 60,000 people will be paused starting Nov. 1 while the department processes applications so benefits can resume quickly + TANF, LIHEAP and WIC will operate normally. KFYR-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Des Lacs-Burlington football Lakers (7-2 record) finished (third in Class A region 3) and will travel to Dickinson Trinity for the first playoff round. KFYR-TV
