- ➤ A proposed natural gas pipeline from the Bakken is being planned to boost industrial growth and expand energy access for Minot and nearby communities, experts said during an Economic Development Association panel on Oct. 8th. WBI Energy will file with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission later this year for permits, and the project is expected to start service in November 2029 — survey work, state funds and landowner support are driving enthusiasm for long-term development. - ➤ North American Iron plans to build a 730-acre pig ore processing plant in Minot’s industrial park, set to open in late 2029. The project—using clean technology that cuts carbon emissions by 96%—will add 650 jobs and supply the nation with domestic pig iron. Minot Daily News
