- ➤ Dr. Kevin Horton, president of the Institute for Biblical Authority, will speak at Minot Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 28 where he will teach Sunday School on Genesis 6:1-4 at 9:45 a.m., preach on Genesis 1:1 at 11 a.m., and present a drone study on physical geology at 6 p.m. He will then travel to Devils Lake on Monday, Sept. 29 for an evening presentation at Lake Region State College before offering additional studies the next day. - ➤ The Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo will visit Dakota Elementary, North Plains Elementary and on-base homeschool students on October 9th. Its rodeo representatives will answer questions to explain the event ahead of the October 10th to 12th performance at the state fairgrounds — active-duty members and military-connected students will receive free tickets. - ➤ Stanley sixth grader Justin Swider was selected as Youth Heart Ambassador for the school year 2025 to 2026 by the American Heart Association on Sept. 23—he will work with other youth volunteers to promote healthy habits and lifesaving skills. Minot Daily News

- ➤ On September 19, the 5th Civil Engineer Squadron held the annual Snow Rodeo to test Minot AFB’s snow removal teams as they prepared for winter. About 70 Airmen competed by driving plows on an obstacle course—base leaders took part and scores will be released later. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Minot Air Force Base will get up-armored Ford F—350 patrol trucks over the next two years to replace older Humvees and BearCats and boost safety and efficiency. The new trucks feature an armored crew box and improved off-road handling to support patrol and rapid response duties. Northern Sentry
- ➤ The North Dakota State Library faces uncertainty as potential federal cuts may remove up to one third of its budget, which would affect e-resources and interlibrary loans statewide — state librarian Mary Soucie and local patrons worry about future planning while awaiting a fiscal year 2026 decision. - ➤ Fourteen Civil Air Patrol volunteer pilots from across North Dakota gathered Saturday in Moorhead for intensive all-weather training at Moorhead Municipal Airport—led by Lt. Col.
