  • Journey Church will host a marriage enrichment weekend with guest speaker Ted Cunningham on Friday evening, Oct. 3 and Saturday morning, Oct. 4 — interested couples can call 838-1111 for cost and registration details at 1805 2nd Ave. SE in Minot.  Minot Daily News
  • Minot Sertoma Club announced its annual fundraising event will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at Flickertail Gardens on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds from 4-8 p.m., featuring a buffet, silent auction, free axe throwing and cornhole, and live music by Drew Hanson — the proceeds will support community projects like a STEAM T-ball league, a hearing aid bank and Minot State University initiatives.  Minot Daily News
  • Minot resident Monica Padgett’s family will share their journey caring for her father at today’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Oak Park. Registration begins at 9 a.m.—the opening ceremony will follow at 10 a.m. with a one-and-a-half-mile walk thereafter.  KFYR-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Minot State University Theatre announced its 2025—26 season 'The Year of Razzle Dazzle,' which features a lineup of productions and a partnership with Western Plains Opera to present Chicago the Musical. The season will begin with Macbeth on Oct. 24—26 at Aleshire Theatre and conclude with Chicago the Musical from April 9 to 12 at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.  Minot Daily News
  • The 2025 Norsk Hostfest will take place in Minot from Sept. 24-27 with events celebrating the bicentennial of Norwegian immigration, the 200th birthday of ski pioneer Sondre Norheim, and what is believed to be the festival’s first wedding—highlighting music, food, and cultural displays. Volunteers and local groups will serve thousands of visitors during this special event.  Minot Daily News
  • Norwegian Ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt will visit Minot on Tuesday, Sept. 23 and Wednesday, Sept. 24 — joining Norsk Hostfest events that include a personal tour of the Scandinavian Heritage Park and a meeting with North Dakota First Lady Kjersti Armstrong. She will also take part in a Bunad Show at 11 a.m. in Oslo Hall — and attend the Governor’s Reception followed by the festival opening ceremony at 2:30 p.m. in the Great Hall.  Minot Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Dakota National Air Guard will send a detachment of 40 personnel to support bomber missions at Minot Air Force Base by October next year. Officials said the unit—linked with the 5th Bomb Wing and the 119th Wing—will help operate B52 bombers.  KFYR-TV
  • Starting Monday, crews will repair an aging manhole at the East Burdick and 1st St SE intersection as two inside lanes are closed while two outside lanes remain open—no left turns will be allowed northbound and work will continue weather permitting for a few days.  KFYR-TV
  • Minot Air Force Base received its first shipment of new Ford F-350 trucks—equipped with reinforced armor—for patrol and will finish replacing its older Humvees and BearCat vehicles over the next two years. The updated trucks offer more space for passengers and lower maintenance costs.  KFYR-TV

  • KMOT reported a 9-man sports event on September 19th where local teams competed under stadium lights—showing skill and teamwork. The story noted strong community support and promising athletic performance throughout the contest.  KFYR-TV
