COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Every fall, McCabe Church opens its doors to offer visitors free clothes—continuing an 8-year tradition.  KFYR-TV
  • The Minot Farmers Market will host a Harvest Festival next weekend at *Oak Park* with a mix of a farmers market scene and fall fun like a kids pedal tractor pull, craft tables and a caramel apple bar; families should register early for the limited spots in the pedal tractor pull. The event runs September 20 from 9 a.m. to noon, bringing community members together for seasonal celebration.  KFYR-TV
  • Minot State University’s Homecoming Parade filled downtown streets on Sept. 13 with vibrant floats and marching bands despite light rain—celebrating 100 years of Beaver football. The parade began at 10:30 a.m. and ended with tailgaters gathering at the MSU Dome’s east lot before the football game.  Minot Daily News
  • Minot High School FBLA is holding a winter clothing drive today through Sept. 21 to collect gently used garments for low-income families—drop-offs are available at several local sites including Minot High School and Taco Feliz—and a shopping event to distribute the donated items will be held at Minot High School on Sept. 21 from 1-4 p.m.  Minot Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Association of Air Force Missileers will hold its national meeting in Minot from Aug. 5 to Aug. 9, 2026, and will induct new members into its hall of fame on Aug. 8 at the Clarion Hotel. Organizers say the event will include meetings, guest speakers, and visits to local landmarks—expecting over 200 missileers, spouses, and local leaders to attend.  Minot Daily News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Minot State lost its homecoming game 21—27 to Concordia-St Paul Golden Bears on Saturday, September 13 as the Bears scored first and sealed the win with a late touchdown. The team will try to earn its first win of the season when it faces Winona State on Saturday, September 20.  Minot Daily News
  • On Friday, September 12, Minot High lost its late lead as Aiden Samek scored twice to give West Fargo a 19 to 14 win. The Magicians remain winless in their first three games—Minot High also played without its injured top running back, Blake Anderson.  Minot Daily News
