  • Oliver’s Attic, a downtown clothing boutique operating since 2012, will close Sept. 30 as owner Jackie Field said she is ready to start a new chapter by spending more time with her grandchildren — marking the end of nearly 50 years of the building’s legacy.  KFYR-TV
  • The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association will host its annual convention and trade show at the Grand Hotel in Minot starting Sept. 24 with a golf scramble, and the event will end on Friday with speakers, policy votes — and a banquet.  KFYR-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • NDHP trooper Bill Brown was hit twice in 18 months by drunk drivers — dash cam footage recorded a head-on collision and a near miss during routine stops, and he said the incidents are completely preventable.  KFYR-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • In Minot, accordion teacher Gerald Schlag is training his student Titus Bulow in a state apprenticeship program to keep traditional music alive—Bulow will perform with the Accordion Club at Norsk Hostfest from Sept. 24 to Sept. 27.  Minot Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Minot Public Schools enrollment dropped by 225 students as of Sept. 3 with kindergarten numbers suspected to be the cause. The school board will review the figures tomorrow—aiming to guide future enrollment actions.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Minot City Council tabled a proposal on Sept. 9 to allow sanitation customers to opt out of curbside recycling, and the idea will be reviewed at a public budget hearing on Sept. 15—council members also requested that city staff examine potential fee adjustments for continued program participation. The council further cut the road repair allocation in the 2026 preliminary budget from $12 million to $10 million to help balance fiscal needs.  Minot Daily News
