Residents will test their strength at the LETR Truck Pull for Special Olympics North Dakota on Saturday, Sept.

26 at the N.D. State Fairgrounds on the Midway, with registration starting at 11 a.m. and the event kicking off at 12:30 p.m. Support activities include a food truck + bake sale.

A local volunteer group donated major aid to help save lives for rural residents in the southern part of the state.

The donation will support emergency services and community care (more details may be announced later).

Hook and Ladder Winery (with ties to Minot) donated several bottles of wine to the Medora Foundation, with proceeds from glasses sold at Theodore’s Dining Room in the Roughrider Hotel supporting local programs.

Expedition: Greenland will be screened free at Minot State University on Sunday, Sept.

13 from 1-3:30 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall — after which Dr. Jon Solberg and local podcaster Brian Jackson will discuss adventure and leadership.

Western Plains Children’s Choirs invites third-12th graders from Minot and nearby areas to join its choral group for the 2026-2027 season.

Rehearsals begin Sunday, Sept. 13, and a student/parent informational meeting will be held at 5:45 p.m. at Minot State University, Old Main + Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.

Recent summer rains have helped boost soybeans and other late-season crops on Amanda Kopp’s farm near Des Lacs — the showers have revived the potential to combine harvests that were at risk due to dry conditions.
