  • In Braddock the South Central Threshing Association is celebrating its 50th Annual Threshing Bee and Antique Show by honoring local agriculture and showcasing antique machinery in a parade – the event draws 1,500 to 2,000 people and offers demonstrations of historic crop harvesting methods.  KFYR-TV
  • Minot held the Out of the Darkness Walk on Sunday in Oak Park during Suicide Awareness Month — community members posted tributes and visited vendor tables to access mental health resources for suicide prevention.  KFYR-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Town and Country Credit Union announced the four winners of its 2025 Small Business Grants program and will give each business $2,500 after credit union members submitted essays on how to help their staff, customers, or community. The winners are Dakota Chappy in Minot, Amend Healthcare in West Fargo, Ryder Community Center Association, and Muddy Boots Coffee House in Mapleton—each picked for a positive local impact.  Minot Daily News
  • U.S. Bank is changing its presence in Minot as it converts the Minot South Auto Bank at 1925 S. Broadway from a drive-up to a full-service branch—this location will temporarily close in September and reopen later this fall. The downtown branch at 17 1st Ave. SW will close on Nov. 18 but will not affect client accounts.  Minot Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Minot Parks announced that Logger Fest returns at Oak Park on Saturday, Sept. 27 from noon—6 p.m. The outdoor festival will feature family-friendly lumberjack games, Oktoberfest foods, live music and food trucks, and residents must pre-register for the dog races.  Minot Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • More than 200 airmen from the 891MSFS completed OPERATION Valhalla Strike training at Camp Ripley, Minnesota from Aug. 24-29—as they practiced live-fire drills, ground defense maneuvers, and coordinated with the 54th Helicopter Squadron. The squadron returned to Minot sharpened in its mission to secure ICBM facilities—preparing to defend critical assets more effectively.  Minot Daily News

  • The 8th annual Fuel the Fight event in Minot is raising money to help cover cancer patients’ travel costs for treatment—this fundraiser will ease the heavy expenses that come with traveling for care.  KFYR-TV
  • FirstLink has invited the community to attend a free safeTALK suicide prevention training at the Minot Public Library on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Attendees will earn three Continuing Education Units and must register in advance for certificate preparation.  Minot Daily News
  • HealthyDakota Mutual Holdings has made a strategic investment in TriWest Healthcare Alliance to expand community-based health care for military members, veterans and their families including in Minot— this partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield will boost the provider network, speed referrals and improve access to services such as mental health and specialized care.  Minot Daily News
