- ➤ Mike Hayes, a retired construction contractor, was sworn in as the newest Minot City Council member on Tuesday—filling the seat left vacant when Mark Jantzer became mayor on August 5. He will serve until the next election in June and plans to use his construction experience to help address the city's stagnant growth. Minot Daily News
- ➤ State agencies provided over $3 million to upgrade Minot's water system and roughly $640,000 to help Kenmare replace cast-iron mains and improve water quality — West Fargo, Grafton and Jamestown also received state loans for water system upgrades. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The City of Minot will hold fall cleanup week for sanitation customers from Sept. 8 through 12—offering free landfill drop off and bulk curbside pickup for acceptable items. Residents must place items on their front-yard boulevard on their regular collection day as crews begin pickup at 7 a.m. and will not take large quantities of construction materials or bulky debris.
