A New Town man, 30-year-old Chozey J.

Morsette, was charged for setting a basket of clothes on fire in an apartment in southeast Minot on Monday, Aug. 25—police said he fled before responders arrived—and he was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday on six counts of endangerment by fire with a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 2 at 11:30 a.m.

North Dakota’s oil production increased by 3.49% in June to 34.5 million barrels at 1.15 million barrels per day, mostly from Bakken and Three Forks formations — natural gas output also rose to 3.4 billion cubic feet per day while rig counts dropped from 32 to 29 and Fort Berthold oil production saw an 8% increase to 161,167 barrels with two rigs. The report from the Department of Mineral Resources shows steady gains in energy output as production numbers are released two months behind.
