- ➤ The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reported that eight commercial airports set a record with 122,238 passenger boardings in July—Minot accounted for 17,360, marking an increase from last year. All airports recorded growth, reflecting continued strength in the state’s air travel network. Minot Daily News
- ➤ North Dakota Farm Bureau announced the hiring of Megan Gross as northwest field representative—she grew up near Napoleon on a farm that raises a commercial spring calving herd and grows corn, wheat and soybeans, and she will support leadership development for members in Divide, Williams, Burke, Mountrail, Renville, Ward, McLean, Sheridan, Bottineau, McHenry, Rolette and Pierce counties. - ➤ AARP will offer a Smart Driver Safety Course at the Minot Commission on Aging on Thursday, Sept. 4 from noon—4 p.m., where participants will learn research-based strategies to stay safe on the road. After completing the course, drivers may qualify for a multi-year discount on auto insurance and can register by calling Brian at 471-7845. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Researchers from the University of Minnesota found that wakesurfing boats can disturb lake sediments by releasing nutrients that may lead to algal growth and make it hard for fish to find food. They advise boat operators to use surf mode only in waters deeper than 20 feet — a recommendation that could affect future regulations. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot International Airport TSA is offering enrollment and renewal of TSA PreCheck membership next month with in-person appointments available from Sept. 9—12 for $76.75. Eligible applicants include U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents. KFYR-TV
- ➤ On August 19, staff from U.S. Rep. Julie Fedorchak's office visited Minot AFB and received a briefing on the base's strategic mission from Air Force Col. Jesse Lamarand and Col. Jimmy Schlabach—clarifying key operations at the installation. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Dakota Hope Clinic in Minot is expanding its services with new wellness offerings, sports physicals, fertility education and adoption support—aimed at meeting rising regional needs.
