Companions for Children is expanding its mentorship programs Lunch Pals—serving several local schools, including one for students with disabilities—and Pen Pals, and is asking local residents to volunteer as student needs grow.
Volunteers must be 18 or older, live within 15 miles and complete a background check, interview and training while a $2,000 sponsorship supports one school site for a year.
