- ➤ MANDAN — A regional initiative funded by a $12.6 million Bush Foundation grant will test a rural grocery and local food hub model within a 100-mile radius of Minot—engaging local producers and aiming to lower wholesale prices; if the pilot succeeds, similar projects may expand throughout the state. - ➤ On Tuesday morning, Tom Joyce became acting City Manager after the council unanimously approved an early termination for Harold Stewart—who left his post early to start his new job. The city will save roughly $10,000 as HR begins the search for a permanent replacement. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Katie Snyder of Minot began her one-year clerkship with the North Dakota Supreme Court on Aug. 1—she earned her law degree from UND School of Law in May. - ➤ Minot City Council members debated a proposal to use sales tax revenue for public safety improvements — the discussion emphasized reviewing the measure's potential impact on local services. KFYR-TV

- ➤ At an August 5 meeting, the Ward County Commission voted to begin design work on rebuilding County Road 23 from Sawyer to U.S. Highway 2 with an estimated cost of $350,000—$400,000 and to study a roundabout solution at the intersection of County Roads 14 and 17, located two miles west of the Trinity medical complex, with construction expected in 2027. The commission also approved splitting the Stoney Ridge condominium property for sale once Minot removes it from county ownership and condo members approve the plan. Minot Daily News
