MSU Summer Theatre closes Season 61 with its final production — The Little Mermaid, a musical directed by Seth Honerman — with performances running Monday, July 27 through Saturday, Aug.

Former fair manager Jerry Iverson, retired for 20 years, enjoys this year’s fair with his wife Connie as they tour 4-H and FFA exhibits (reminding him of key changes from modest beginnings to modern upgrades such as computerized gates).
He credits the community’s dedication for the fair's growth.
Patriot Robot, a more than six-foot-tall figure, roams the state fairgrounds stopping for photos and sharing patriotic messages; it appears in 45-minute intervals at 12, 2, 4:40 and 7 p.m. today.
