- ➤ In Minot, the new Multi-Farm CSA offers subscription options including produce, meats, dairy, and non-food items to support local farms after its launch by founder Desiree Carlson with ten producers. - ➤ Citizens Alley is a new community plaza in downtown Minot owned by the Aksal Group and run by Local Motives that hosts events like concerts, markets, a winter ice rink, and more. The space, located near Central Avenue and 1st Street SE beside the old Soo Line FreightHouse, held its first Arts in the City event and will soon host activities such as Wednesday night yoga and visits by the Yodabest Food Truck—bringing fresh energy to the area. - ➤ At the spring 2025 graduation of the Community College of the Air Force, Col Schlabach thanked graduates, family members and fellow service members as degrees were awarded and the Pitsenbarger Award was presented to SSgt RoShanda Durant. Dr. Steven Shirley of Minot State University praised the graduates' hard work and highlighted the long partnership with Minot Air Force Base — a bond that will support them in future challenges. - ➤ At a Virtual Special School Board meeting on July 2nd, the School Board approved the name Minot United and a new co-op logo featuring a Half Magi/Half Sentinel image for sports and activities—this decision represents a move to include both Minot High and Minot North High students. The co-op teams will not have a separate mascot name and will use a mix of school colors with no new uniforms issued, though a patch is under consideration—Superintendent Dr. Scott Faul said the logo is designed to be more inclusive. - ➤ Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot will host International Tiger Day on Tuesday with tiger-themed activities including crafts, keeper chats, a scavenger hunt, a tiger cub name announcement, and a baby shower gift collection for the cubs. - ➤ Minot AFB expanded its HOPE Spiritual Fitness Initiative on July 24 to help Airmen build spiritual strength with trained Hope Specialists acting as peer mentors for those under stress—Chaplain Captain Kelli Williamson said volunteers complete 20 hours of training and serve for six months, with more units set to join soon.
