The ND250 Commission, managed by the State Historical Society, is honoring the 250th anniversary of our nation with projects that highlight North Dakota’s military service heritage.

Residents can visit historic sites (including Fort Abraham Lincoln and Fort Buford) to learn more about the state’s story.

Music star Alex Warren rode go-karts on the fair’s northeast end last Friday before he performed his first state fair show to a near-full crowd; he is known for hits like Ordinary + Bloodline.

Before the parade today, nearly 500 runners including families and pets took part in the annual 5K route in Minot, with Ben Martin winning overall in 15:22 and top female finisher Danielle Turk-Bly at 17:29 (many participants helped kick off a lively state fair weekend).

Mason Lunzman continues his baseball journey by playing at Jamestown High, sharpening his skills at Dickinson State University, and competing with the Badlands Big Sticks summer league - he builds his career close to home.
