Roosevelt Park Zoo announced it will add an interactive petting zoo to its west wing in 2028, featuring barnyard animals such as a Highland cow + chickens, with further details to be shared later.

Fjord Folk Fest will start Friday, Aug.

21 and run through Saturday, Aug. 22 at Minot Municipal Auditorium (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.). The Uffda Foundation has planned a celebration of Scandinavian heritage with live music, artisan booths and educational classes for families.

Missionaries from Amazing Grace Ministries will share their message at the North Dakota State Fair in Commercial Building III from July 17 to 25, and they will lead a 7 p.m. service at Minot Baptist Church (500 46th Ave NE) on Wednesday.

A recent report shows North Dakota tourism rebounded this summer with nearly 3% growth from last year and a 27% boost in Theodore Roosevelt National Park visits through April.

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library opened July 4 and is expected to boost tourism further.
