- ➤ Organizers from the N.D. Beef Commission, N.D. Stockmen’s Association and N.D. CattleWomen will host a free roast beef picnic near the Commercial II Exhibit Building on Tuesday, July 22 to honor military members and their families — the meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until food runs out. - ➤ The Budweiser Clydesdales have arrived for the North Dakota State Fair and are on display near the state fair center in Machinery Row—viewers can visit daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the horses will join Saturday's parade. KFYR-TV

- ➤ A 92-year-old man named Rollin W. Rogness died after being struck at a 16th Street Southwest crosswalk in Minot on Saturday afternoon+ the SUV driver, 81-year-old Jean Marie Nelson, failed to yield as she turned south and was cited by police. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot's North Dakota State Fair, marking its 60th year, has added a new concrete walkway with a water fountain—upgraded lighting and self-serve kiosks, modern payment systems for food vendors, and free bussing to help ease traffic. The fair will kick off on Friday night with a Bailey Zimmerman concert and a flyover by B-52 bombers from Minot Air Force Base, and security upgrades will keep the event safe. Minot Daily News

- ➤ The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $4 million BUILD grant to Ward County for preliminary work on a new transportation corridor in southwest Minot. The grant will fund planning, environmental review and design for the corridors—an Outer Connector from U.S. Highways 2 and 52 to U.S. Highway 83 along County Roads 14 and 16 and an Inner Connector on 30th Street Southwest. - ➤ Minot’s new police chief Michael Frye was sworn in Monday at City Hall by acting mayor Mark Jantzer—he said he will support patrol officers and work to restore hope in the community. Minot Daily News
