- ➤ Zhaina Moya, director of the Minot Public Library since May 2023, announced she will step down later this month to take a leadership role at an out-of-state library. Her last day is Thursday, July 25 and the library board will soon start looking for an interim director. KFYR-TV

- ➤ A 92-year-old man is recovering after he was struck by an SUV turning from 31st Avenue while crossing 16th Street SW at a southwest Minot crosswalk at 3 p.m. on Saturday— the 81-year-old driver was cited for failing to yield. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Minot jewelry artist Amber Edwards redefines luxury by making handmade pieces from locally sourced stones that sell for about $50-$60 instead of $300 elsewhere—she was featured at Thursday’s downtown event at Budget Music and Video and supports fellow vendors by buying their work. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Friday morning in Bismarck, an eighth grader from Minot won the state finals of the National Civics Bee after qualifying through essay submissions and other contests; she will represent North Dakota at the national competition in Washington, D.C. on Nov 10+11. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Rob Fuller, a Minot City Council member elected last year, announced his run for mayor in the special election set for Aug. 5 and outlined plans to lower property taxes, reduce city spending, and boost community engagement—he also noted overdue taxes from his closed business due to economic challenges and proposed shifting some sales tax revenue to fund safety services. - ➤ The Ward County Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Ward County Administrative Building Room 108 to review a subdivision plat for residential lake lots at Rice Lake, a permit to host weddings in Sawyer Township, and three residential outlot plats in Surrey, Foxholm and Berthold townships — the meeting will also discuss Rice Lake access road issues with Rice Lake Recreation and local townships.
