- ➤ Yesterday, the Pryor family celebrated the dedication of their modest new home in Minot built by Habitat for Humanity Northern Lights. The 27-year-old Patrick Pryor, who volunteered 250 hours to renovate the home destroyed in the 2011 flood, now lives with his children and grandmother — fulfilling a long-held dream. KFYR-TV
- ➤ North Dakota beef producers will salute active-duty military, reserve and National Guard members and their families at the 20th annual Beef Industry Military Appreciation Day during the ND State Fair in Minot on Tuesday, July 22. The event, hosted by the ND Beef Commission, NDSA and ND CattleWomen, will feature a free roast beef picnic and children’s activities near the Commercial II Exhibit Building with food served from 11 a.m.—1 p.m. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot City Council has updated its public comment procedure so that citizens must submit a speaker card (with name, address, and topic) before speaking during meetings. The rule will take effect on Aug. 1 and retains a five-minute limit per person with a total of 30 minutes per meeting that may be extended by a council vote. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Mark Jantzer, who became acting mayor after Tom Ross resigned in April and has served on the council since 2008, announced his run for mayor in the Aug. 5 special election—he plans to strengthen police leadership and support city employees. He aims to boost public safety by increasing fire protection on the south side and keeping taxes under control—goals he believes will provide quality services for local residents. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot mayoral race candidates filed financial disclosures last week, showing support ranging from zero to $28,500; candidate Josiah Roise reported most of his funds came from in-kind contributions, while Rob Fuller and Mark Jantzer reported totals of $13,980 and $9,726 respectively, and Paul Pitner received no outside donations. The filings detail contributions of $200 or more from various local groups and individuals. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot will close the northbound lane of the Third Street NE bridge today between 9 a.m. and noon after NDDOT found a critical issue during its late May inspection — the city received the results Tuesday and opened bids for repairs, while the southbound lane stays open. - ➤ Josiah Roise—one of four mayoral candidates—filed a federal lawsuit on April 11 in federal District Court against the Minot Police Department and Ward County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly violating constitutional rights during April 2019 by conducting searches without a warrant. He said he filed the suit to preserve his right to sue and to prompt an investigation into a series of enforcement issues. Minot Daily News
