Besserud Fund from the Minot Area Community Foundation has granted over $2M to food pantries, soup kitchens and community projects in the area. The fund invested in equipment, meal enhancements and humanitarian efforts that honor its founder’s legacy.

Former executive director Pam Davy was awarded the Medal of Saint Olav in Medora on July 3 by Norway’s ambassador Anniken Huitfeldt to honor her role in leading Norsk Hostfest volunteers (over 5,000 who preserved Scandinavian heritage).

A reception for volunteers is planned in August.

Frontier Meats opened Wednesday, offering farm-to-table products like fresh meats, honey and eggs to local consumers in Minot.

On Tuesday, July 7, the Ward County Commission approved Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s project to repower 80 turbines at PrairieWinds 1 and Minot Wind south of Minot with larger blades, a new gearbox, and generator upgrades — pending final approval by the North Dakota Public Service Commission.
