Minot will test a new absentee ballot process in the mayoral race on Aug.
5, where voters must deliver ballots to the Ward County Auditor’s Office before polls close—ballots postmarked before election day but arriving later will not be counted. Secretary of State Michael Howe said the change aligns state law with a presidential executive order and ensures clear voting guidelines.
