Dunn Center volunteer Leo Piatz has dedicated 25 years to the annual Makoti Threshing Show while caring for its historic Stationary Engine Building — his work brings new life and understanding to the event.
The public can visit Piatz during the show on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11.
Midco announced that families will enjoy free admission, fun rides, and animal encounters at Roosevelt Park Zoo on Thursday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during its Midco Free Day event.
Minot's Souris Valley Amateur Radio Club will host Hamfest at the Minot Auditorium on Saturday, July 11, offering an equipment swap + policy discussions while providing free testing and radio systems for young attendees.
Scouting America Boy Troop 425 will hold its 29th annual car wash on Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Congregational United Church of Christ at 430 N.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department urges boat and dock inspections for aquatic nuisance species before sale while reporting mixed spring grouse counts, and the deer gun lottery now has 1,200 remaining licenses—only unsuccessful resident applicants can apply online until July 15.

The FAA awarded nearly $32 million in grants through the Airport Improvement Program, including $7.63 million to upgrade runway and taxiway facilities at Minot International on Thursday, July 2.
The funding will also support projects at airports in Williston, Garrison and Tioga.
