Lynn Heald of Minot Peace and Honor Quilts of Valor presented quilts to honor veterans at the Midsummer Festival at Scandinavian Heritage Park—each quilt made by local hands.

She will host Threads of Remembrance on Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Municipal Auditorium during Fjord Fest.

Minot Air Force Base held its annual Freedom Fest on June 26 to mark 250 years of freedom.
