Minot will celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday on July 4 with a parade starting at 10 a.m. along Fourth Avenue Northwest and a festival at Oak Park, followed by a Hot Tots baseball game, a race, and a choreographed fireworks show.

More than 120 airmen from Minot Air Force Base completed a four-day bivouac exercise at the 119th Air National Guard Regional Training Site in Fargo where they practiced setting up contingency equipment and essential skills for expeditionary operations.

The training focused on foundational wartime skills needed to support future deployments.

Minot State University will receive $110,631 to improve diagnostic data tracking for early infant hearing detection (CDC DD20-2006 program) as part of a federal health grant announced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Additional funds were awarded to UND, state health agencies and Head Start programs statewide.
