- ➤ Residents in southwest Minot will see a Hydro Klean crew install new sanitary sewer liners using a cured-in-place-pipe method over the next few weeks. Neighbors may notice a chemical smell during the work and have been given instructions to limit water use to reduce home impact. City of Minot

- ➤ Three planes from the Dakota Territory Air Museum took part in national events outside Minot, including The Jimmy Stewart Museum’s 30th anniversary weekend in Indiana, PA from May 15-20 and a World War II weekend at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum on June 6. The P-51C Mustang Thunderbird flown by Warren and Jolene Pietsch and the Harvard Mk.IV flown by Logan Pietsch also joined the Innovations in Flight fly-in at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum on June 14. - ➤ The famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will appear in the 43rd annual North Dakota State Parade in Minot on July 19—its first time in the parade, officials said. It will also be seen at the State Fair Center after the parade on Saturday and at Marketplace Foods on Sunday. Minot Daily News
- ➤ At the Pioneer Village Museum, a 1937 Hohner accordion was added to the Samuelson House collection and will be on display this summer—an artifact bought through a Montgomory Ward catalog that spent much of its life in Minnesota before coming to local collectors. - ➤ At a Tuesday Ward County Commission meeting, Todd Kays showed a draft report that rated potential livestock operation sites in Ward County for large-scale projects using zoning, water supply, and road access criteria (categorized as good, better, and best). A public meeting is set for late July in Minot to explain the findings and help guide future policy and infrastructure decisions (based on local and state research). Minot Daily News

- ➤ The Ward County Commission approved two revisions to its liquor ordinance Tuesday after receiving no public comments + one change adds bar and grill operations to restaurant licenses to allow under-21 entry with township authorization + a second revision now permits liquor licenses held by cities or townships to be transferred for special events with the required permissions. - ➤ A committee reviewing economic development finished work Friday and recommended that the City Council form a new Land Development Partnership Committee to boost housing development in Minot—this group would link landowners with developers and suggest incentives such as tax abatements and fee waivers to lower high costs. Paul Pitner said rising interest rates and steep development costs make it harder to build homes even as available properties sell quickly. Minot Daily News
- ➤ The Minot City Council backed off on hiring more firefighters after reviewing its budget plans — council members said they would study funding options before moving forward — and may reconsider the plan in upcoming meetings. KFYR-TV
