Acacia Lodge #12 is hosting Juneteenth Freedom Day at Oak Park today from noon to 5 p.m. The free event features live music, food, vendors, and educational activities.

Oil production in North Dakota dropped by 0.48% from March to April, with output falling by 5,500 barrels per day to 1.137 million barrels per day (forecast was 1.15 million).

Director Nathan Anderson noted that the Bakken-Three Forks Formation drove nearly all of the state's output.

Minot State University plans to launch its first innovation engineering program this fall with a recommended $500,000 MAGIC Fund forgivable loan + matching $250,000 state grant, which will use $350,000 for equipment and $150,000 for scholarships.

The program has been fully accredited and already enrolled about a dozen local students.

Minot Public Schools will hold a special board meeting (via livestream) at 5 p.m. Monday, June 22 to review election results, 2026-27 Federal Programs Consolidated applications, a Jim Hill assistant principal hire, and a new ESPB license staff report.

The meeting is open to public input.

Basin Electric received support from the Ward County Planning Commission on June 18 for repowering wind turbines south of Minot — the company will start fall construction pending final permits from local and federal agencies, and it has agreed on road maintenance with the county to address early work concerns.

Raymond 'Buddy' Walter, a 100-year-old Verendrye native, reflected on his life during Father’s Day by recalling his days on a fourth-generation farm, raising 12 children, and building a five-generation family.

He credited faith, hard work, and neighborly support as keys to a long, happy life.
