- ➤ MAFB will host Freedom Fest 2025 after the cancellation of BUFF Bash and the Base Open House. The event will feature patriotic STEAM activities at the base library from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and a kid zone with games at Rockers parking lot from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. — a fireworks display at Bud Ebert Park planned for June 27 that may shift to June 28 if weather is poor. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On June 16, the North Central District Court in Ward County sentenced several defendants from Minot for domestic violence, DUI, and disobedience charges with jail time, probation, fines, and required courses — and on June 17 in Mountrail County, a Watford City defendant was sentenced for theft and drug paraphernalia offenses — showing active enforcement of local criminal laws. - ➤ Today the Scandinavian Heritage Association kicked off its annual Midsummer Festival at 4 p.m. in Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot and the free event will run until Sunday. - ➤ Homeschooling at Minot AFB has grown with 116 military-connected K–12 students and 25 preschoolers enrolled this year compared to 88 last year—an increase of 62%.
