- ➤ Minot State University students won top prizes at Future Business Leaders of America’s National Leadership Conference in Dallas from May 31 to June 2, where over 890 students from nearly 150 schools competed in 38 business events. The 11-member team placed in the top ten in events such as Accounting, Business, and Technology — a win that highlights their dedication. Minot Daily News

- ➤ On Wednesday, smoky air conditions put Minot in the red and purple range on the air quality index, and environmental officials urged those with breathing issues to stay indoors. Visitors and locals said the thick smoke made outdoor visibility drop to 2 to 4 miles—causing a youth sports game to be postponed and construction crews to take breaks. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Civil Air Patrol units from the North Central Region are taking part in a disaster response exercise this week that simulates a North Dakota dam failure—FEMA is coordinating with 10 CAP wings from 7 states who will conduct aerial reconnaissance on roads, bridges, and levees—preparing for emergencies.
