- ➤ On May 27, the 91st Missile Wing hosted a delegation from the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation at Missile Alert Facility H-01. The visit featured a facility tour and curated photo display that honored the tribe's cultural legacy—MHA Chairman Mark Fox led the exchange and strengthened ties with Air Force personnel. - ➤ Arts In The City celebrated its 40th anniversary at Oak Park on Sunday with a free concert by Daniel Starks, Kaylee Capp and Jonathan Starks that drew more than 140 local residents. The summer series runs through Aug. 21 with shows on Sunday evenings at Oak Park and select Thursday nights downtown — including concerts on June 12, 19 and 26. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot Air Force Base will open its doors for an Open House event on Saturday, June 14 with aircraft displays and attractions like car drives, go-carts, bouncy castles, food trucks, and a beer garden. Off-base visitors must carpool via the South Gate—which opens at 8 a.m. and stops visitor entry at 2 p.m. (they also need to bring a valid REAL ID or approved alternate ID) while on-base residents can use a dedicated bus service. - ➤ The 91st Missile Maintenance Squadron was named April’s Squadron of the Month for completing 85 inspections at 27 sites in just four days and replacing a missile guidance set that returned a sortie to alert on the fifth day—supporting critical Air Force Global Strike Command standards and engaging over 100 family visitors at the open house. Their efforts also earned them the Pride Bully Stick award at the Wing Awards Ceremony. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Two deputy commanders left Minot Air Force Base. Col. Benjamin Jensen retired and is moving back to American Fork with his family, who are expecting a new baby on June 7 — and Col. - ➤ Gen. Thomas A. Bussiere activated SATAF Detachment 12 at Minot Air Force Base on May 21 to ready the base for the new Sentinel missile system — the upgrade will eventually replace all Minuteman III ICBMs with advanced technology as teams prepare for a careful transition. Northern Sentry

- ➤ North Dakota has about 15,000 Vietnam veterans, with roughly 65% receiving compensation for Agent Orange exposure and about 70 women facing fertility issues. Children and grandchildren of exposed veterans show health problems like spina bifida and birth defects—officials advise affected families to register claims with the Veteran’s Administration.
