ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire started in a storage room at the Baymont Hotel in southwest Minot Monday afternoon — the building's sprinkler system quickly extinguished the flames with no injuries reported while guests collected their belongings as the hotel closed for repairs and investigation. KFYR-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials announced that the NAWS project experienced delays despite receiving two federal approvals — they plan to share updated timelines soon. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot’s Job Corps students are being moved off campus as the U.S. Department of Labor pauses programs until June 30; the phased transition has been extended to June 12, leaving fewer than 20 students on campus. Tom Ross said the pause does not signal a permanent closure—staff and local partners are working to connect students with community resources during the move. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot voters narrowly rejected a half percent sales tax measure for the Park District with 979 votes against and 954 in favor (a 25-vote difference) on Tuesday, so the board will now work in maintenance mode and cancel plans for a new turf facility.
