  • The Minot Moose Lodge is hosting its annual Gettin Loose at the Moose car show today from 5-8 p.m.—members of Dakota Cruisers and local car lovers will gather to see classic and newer cars. The event started eight years ago when the fairground lost space and now offers hotdogs, brats and drinks for families.  Minot Daily News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On May 19, Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot welcomed four critically endangered Amur tiger cubs, marking mother Zoya’s second litter and the first offspring with father Finn. The cubs will debut on World Tiger Day, July 29 and the zoo will introduce a children’s book about Zoya in July.  Minot Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Candidates running for mayor must submit at least 300 signatures by Monday, June 2 (4 p.m.) to qualify for the ballot; three candidates have already met the requirement while another intends to submit soon. City officials will verify the signatures and draw ballot order before the next City Council meeting ahead of the Aug. 5 election.  KFYR-TV
  • Administrators at the Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center in Minot looked at how a Labor Department move to pause contractor-run centers nationwide by June 30 might affect their operations. Staff are working with local workforce partners and contractors to help current students find other training and job options—ensuring a smooth change.  Minot Daily News
  • On May 21, Gen Thomas Bussiere activated SATAF Detachment 12 at Minot AFB to ready the base’s infrastructure for the upcoming Sentinel ICBM system that will replace the current Minuteman III missiles. The ceremony highlighted solid cooperation between military and civilian teams—an essential step in the base’s modernization effort.  Minot Daily News
  • The North Dakota Department of Water Resources received key federal approvals from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Thursday for the NAWS project’s permanent intake structure, which will provide reliable drinking water (as required under the Clean Water Act) to communities including Minot.
