- ➤ Kathleen Gaddie retired this month from the Kalix Board of Directors after 35 years of service (her leadership was greatly valued), the nonprofit said. Kalix (in operation since 1960) provides residential and vocational support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Minot, Belcourt/Rolla and Grand Forks. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot Fireworks Association is preparing its annual fireworks display at the fairgrounds on July 4 and is funding the show solely with community donations. The group raised money on May 17 by selling food at Marketplace Foods and volunteers have dedicated up to 1,000 hours to build the 30-minute display—choreographed by Derek Miller and his daughter Haylee. - ➤ The Minot Area Community Foundation awarded $16,000 through the Anna S. and Harold A.C. Bergstrom Scholarship Fund to five MLS High School seniors from Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood High School to support their post-secondary studies—four recipients received $3,500 and Raegan Fitzsimmons received $2,000 based on their scholastic and vocational achievements. - ➤ Kelby Timmons was named by the District 26 GOP on Saturday to fill the empty seat after former Rep. Olson resigned for a new job. Timmons, a Watford City resident elected in 2022, will serve through 2028. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Fred Strand was promoted to director of Talent & Culture at Trinity Health in Minot & Lora Soderholm joined as director of Total Rewards.
