Minot fire crews from all five stations responded to heavy smoke from a fire at detached garages in the 1100 block of 12th Street SE around 8:50 p.m. Friday — they controlled the fire, no one was hurt, and officials are investigating its cause.

Minot locals celebrated Syttende Mai on May 17th at Scandinavian Heritage Park where about 100 joined a parade by dressing in traditional Norwegian style and singing while carrying the flag—continuing a long-held heritage tradition.

Meanwhile, roughly 45 musicians from North Dakota also took part in the parade in Skien to mark Norwegian Constitution Day and honor their sister city ties.
