On Tuesday, May 12, the Civil Air Patrol honored Cadets Ezekiel Hoverson and Kohen Merkel with the Brigadier General Billy Mitchell Award for exceptional leadership and service during a ceremony that featured remarks from local CAP officials + marked their promotion to cadet officer roles.
Sen. Hoeven said at a Senate Interior and Environment Appropriations hearing that EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin will soon issue the final approval needed for Minot’s former Superfund landfill redevelopment near Maysa Arena.
The plan includes a park with disc golf, mountain biking, and cross-country trails once approval is granted.
Minot High Majettes are the No. 1 seed in the WDA Tournament and will face the winner of the Bismarck St. Mary’s and Jamestown quarterfinal match on Thursday, May 21 at Hammond Park — they finished the regular season undefeated with strong singles and doubles records.
Dickinson earned the No. 1 seed in the WDA Tournament by edging Williston on run differential after the teams shared the regular season title.
Minot High played Bismarck Century on Saturday, and Minot North will host Watford City on Tuesday (at Scheels South Hill Sports Complex).
Minot North softball snapped a six-game losing streak with an 11-8 win over Des Lacs-Burlington/Lewis & Clark on Friday, May 15 at Scheels South Hill Complex; the Sentinels will face Watford City in a postseason play-in game on Tuesday, May 19 at 1 p.m.
