  • Volunteers for Meals on Wheels delivered nearly 400 meals Monday while several city leaders participated in the March for Meals event. The Minot Commission on Aging relies on federal, state, and city funds—plus donations—to keep meal delivery free for seniors.  KFYR-TV
  • On May 9, two Minot communication professionals Candace Brekke and Jessica Ackerman earned awards at the NDPC 2025 contest held at the state conference in Minot—Brekke won multiple top placements and both also placed second for website editing, qualifying their work for the national competition.  Minot Daily News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 44-year-old Tioga man driving a 2021 Ford F-350 sustained serious injuries when his vehicle struck the rear of a grain trailer on U.S. Highway 2 near Ray at 8:12 a.m. Monday—highway lanes remained closed for five hours while the North Dakota Highway Patrol investigates the crash.  Minot Daily News

  • A foreclosure case involving former EPIC CEO Todd Berning will go to trial on Feb.2nd, 2026 in Ward County. Bravera Bank filed the suit in October 2024 against Henry Land Holdings to recover about 3 million in unpaid mortgage payments (the suit is separate from EPIC Companies’ Chapter 11 filing).  KFYR-TV
  • Michael Lucy of Minot was inducted into the Dakotas Hall of Fame on April 24 for his contributions to the insurance industry and his community work with American Family Insurance. He began his career with the company in April 1992 and now leads Give 360 — a local community giving circle.  Minot Daily News

  • After leaving Minot to chase a film career, Dusty Bias has returned as a bus driver for students with special needs in the local public school district. He drives about 75 miles a day—picking up at least eight children with various disabilities—and works closely with his aide Deborah Dyson to keep them safe.  KFYR-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Minot resident Bruce Walker was diagnosed with Parkinson’s after years of losing his sense of smell and experiencing dizziness, and he now serves on the advisory board for the Parkinson’s Foundation. He works to raise awareness and promote free Movement Matters classes at the Minot Family YMCA — providing support and information for those managing the disease.  Minot Daily News
