- ➤ Bodhi, a Belgian Malinois, and his handler, Ray Police Chief Greg Pinski, won first place with a perfect score in narcotics detection at a national K9 competition in Atlantic City, New Jersey + announced by the Ray and Berthold-Carpio Police Departments earlier this month. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The Prairie Warrior Auction raised a record amount of more than $135,000 at the North Dakota State Fair Center on April 23 to support airmen at Minot Air Force Base. Proceeds will fund meals, events and travel for base personnel (including $67,000 for Operation Homebound). Minot Daily News
- ➤ More than 400 law enforcement officers will participate in the Torch Run from May 11-15 to support Special Olympics athletes. In Minot on Tuesday, May 12, the event starts at SCHEELS at Dakota Square Mall at 10 a.m. and ends at Buffalo Wild Wings on 3820 S. Broadway. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Longfellow Elementary First Grade Teacher Kara MacIver is a finalist for the Minot Hot Tots Teacher of the Year and works to equip her students with essential life skills. KFYR-TV
- ➤ After the sudden loss of students at three area schools, Pastor Elaine Sveet from Zion Lutheran Church visited local schools this week to help children process their grief and advise parents to listen when kids need to talk. Teachers provided support to aid healing. KFYR-TV

- ➤ As water recreation season begins, boaters are advised to remove water from and thoroughly clean their watercraft to prevent zebra mussel infestations. Invasive mussels have been identified in seven water bodies and Smishek Lake (using 120 to 140 degree water treatment helps decontaminate vessels). KFYR-TV

- ➤ North Dakota Health and Human Services is accepting public comment on a draft plan to use federal funds to support services like meals and legal help for older residents. The public can submit comments by mail, email, or phone until 5 p.m. on May 31. Minot Daily News

- ➤ North Dakota Catholic Charities helps expectant and new moms with free counseling, transportation to appointments, and adoption services. Minot will host its second Bundle Up Your Baby Bump event in October - an opportunity for families to get donated baby supplies in a region served from Devils Lake to Williston. Minot Daily News
