- ➤ Minot Police arrested two local men—aged 18 and 19—early Sunday morning after a brief pursuit on the 100 block of 1st Avenue Southwest when a driver fled a traffic stop in a pickup truck reported stolen last month, colliding with a parked vehicle, with police later recovering a stolen handgun and charging both with possession of a stolen motor vehicle while the driver faces at least seven counts. - ➤ After hearing opposition to lifting the cap on retail alcohol licenses, the Minot City Council postponed its vote until September — a delay intended to ensure full council representation as one member is absent following a mayor’s resignation and an election set for Aug. 5. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Governor Kelly Armstrong signed a bill on Monday that raised the interstate speed limit to 80 mph starting Aug. 1 and increased penalties for speeding violations — a change meant to align North Dakota with South Dakota and Montana.
