The new office will operate under the First Western name until it receives full regulatory approval for full-service banking—Christie Boutain has been named senior vice president for commercial lending. - ➤ Dakota College’s Bottineau campus hosted its annual Leadership Day on Friday, where nursing students trained with a high-tech mobile simulation lab that provided hands-on experience with emergency care scenarios. The training featured a 70-year-old patient with congestive heart failure and included skill tests like intubation and IV insertion—preparing students for real-life care. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Gov. Armstrong signed a property tax relief and reform package that raises the credit for primary residences from $500 to $1,600 and sets a 3% cap on local tax budgets—easing costs for homeowners today. Lawmakers also approved measures for phone-free schools, reentry programs and enhanced health, military support and infrastructure using Legacy Fund earnings—adding long-term benefits for the state. - ➤ Alzheimer’s Association released its 2025 Facts and Figures report showing that 13,700 North Dakota residents aged 65 and older have Alzheimer’s and 336 died from it, with 19,000 unpaid caregivers providing 26 million hours of care valued at $502 million.
