  • Minot Parks kicked off its week-long Arbor Day celebration at Oak Park on Monday with tree fact signs along the trail as residents can win prizes by guessing the total number of trees; an Arbor Day Bingo event planned for Friday may be postponed due to weather.  KFYR-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Joe's Italian Restaurant opened Monday in Minot and offers homemade pasta, pizza, seafood and more for diners to try.  KFYR-TV
  • The updated 2026 Brand Book from the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association has nearly 20,000 renewed cattle brands over 600 pages and is priced at $100 for pick-up at the Bismarck office (or $110 by mail with postage), with five annual supplements mailed in February.  KFYR-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • At the Dakota Territory Air Museum on Monday, Apr. 20, Dale Lennon and Dr. Bill Peterson explained plans for a 20,000-sqft Military Gallery being built on the state Capitol Grounds in Bismarck as part of a larger 67,000-sqft Heritage Center expansion. Lennon said he is collecting military stories + artifacts.  Minot Daily News
  • Minot museum now features a new exhibit that uses familiar cartoons + WWII history to show how childhood images shaped the past. Visitors can view the engaging display today at the museum.  KFYR-TV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Some farmers in Ward County delay planting due to cold, frozen soil despite early snowmelt drying the fields; they plan to plant spring wheat, peas, and canola when warmer weather arrives—Extension Agent Paige Brummund said they are watching the forecast with equipment and seeds ready.  KFYR-TV

  • Minot woman Lorraine Miller manages Parkinson’s with a new wearable pump that steadies her medication and improves her sleep — she stays active with local boxing classes and will join a physical therapy program in May.  Minot Daily News
